Hi guys. Really sorry for this blog for being dormant for almost half a year. Too many stuffs came by and I need to basically handle those things. Poor me, but hey!! At least I'm still here, still not being soulless and still being hired in one of the amazing company in Singapore. So yeah, lots of things to be grateful on.
These days, I picked on another hobby of cooking food. Lately kinda feeling quite bored with foods around here, and then I was thinking "hey, why not trying to create one?" and thus I started on trying. Lots of ups and downs, I need to say, but at last I'm glad I can be successful in creating at least 1 dish that I am really proud of. And for that one dish, I think I would like to share with you about the food, and also the recipe and the procedure of making one. The dish is basically Hainanese Chicken Rice, but after cooking, seems like I put on quite much more ginger than usual that it turned out yellow, so I named it "Yellow Chicken Rice"
First of all, I would like to give credit to Heinz for this amazing recipe, though I modified it a little bit considering that I have rice cooker at home..
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
- 300-400 ml of chicken broth
- 200 grams (or around 300ml) of rice
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of ginger, minced
- 1.5-2.5 tablespoons of oil
- 3-4 pieces of bay leaves
- Spatula
- Small Pan
- Rice Cooker
- Rinse and clean the rice, and then drain it, leaving rice with as minimum water as possible
- Heat the oil in the small pan with the low heat
- Put minced garlic and minced ginger into the pan, and then sauté it until you can smell the fragrance of the condiments
- Put the drained rice into the pan, then mix it with spatula until the sautéed condiments are mixed well with rice
- After that, put the rice inside the rice cooker. Instead of using water, pour chicken broth into the rice cooker as well. (for the exact amount of broth, I used my finger to measure that, until first joint)
- Clean all the bay leaves, and then put it in the rice cooker
- Press cook button and wait until it's entirely cooked
